Using a different, working battery: no change It is unlikely that these I connected, I think at least, but the more info the better. Luckily this was under warranty and the local Apple store was able to fix it. There was an issue before this where only the backlights would come on, but the actual screen wouldn't come on at all. The laptop will boot as normal with a charged battery, and when it is connected to an AC charger seems to run off the charger and not deplete the battery (although I will need to test this further).

I have also looked into the AC charger information under About This Mac > More Info and it recognises the charger is connected, but it isn't getting any other information, i.e. Hi everyone, I have a MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2010 2.66 GHz that has had no water damage, works as normal, the only thing is that it will not charge and the MagSafe is a dim green.
